Trained as a lawyer, his specialism is International Relations and he studied at the International and Strategic Relations Institute of Paris. Malek Baklouti has a special interest in political institutions and electoral systems. He completed a number of internships with different organizations in various countries before joining the project team in January 2009.
Project aims and objectives
The project aims to:
·Contribute to the national, sub-regional, regional and international initiatives on the political empowerment of women. These initiatives include studies / research, training, communication, advocacy and networking;
· Mobilize and bring together the key players involved in enhancing women's participation in the political arena;
·Support dialogue between key players in order to achieve a strategic plan to consolidate the presence of women in political life and to increase their participation in politics at central and local levels.
Target groups
Women from the three countries and those involved directly or indirectly in the dynamics of strengthening women's leadership and their participation in politics and decision-making processes. These include government decision makers, politicians, members of municipal councils, academics, the media, multilateral cooperation agencies, nongovernmental organizations and civilian bodies working in the field of gender.
